Can Periscope Followers Grow Like Twitter?1142

Belew private msg quote post Address this user
I wonder if Periscope followers will grow the same as Twitter followers?

Follow those who follow you.
Follow others and when they follow you, follow back.
Rinse and repeat.

Still ... there has to be a reason why people would follow you. And more of a reason why they would continue to follow you.

Reason = content.

What kind of visual content can a content marketer trainer make?

Watch me type on my keyboard? Boring.
Watch me fiddle with this webinar software? Boring.
Watch me sit and think about what I am going to do next? Boring.

What kind of content should a content marketer trainer make?

Fishing for ideas here.

Perhaps you can give one useful tip in your field/knowledge domain for every broadcast.

For instance, "It takes 4 months before the search engine recognizes your hard work and start sending traffic to you."

Then you can talk about it more as the viewers starts asking questions about this topic.

The best part is you can probably do this while you're jogging or at the beach.

I think with this software one is viewing events taking place in other parts of the world. Protests, meetings, seminars, discussions and also possibly negative things such as wars, killings etc. So could be used start a community (eg Bernie Sanders' followers, Occupy anything) or to get people to promote causes such as hunger, poverty, get money or funding in a real time way. Just my thoughts.

@yathso

Great idea! So, it's more talking than showing.

Never thought of that.

@shari323

As a speaker on stage, I thought to turn it on and broadcast...tell my attendees, "I know what you see. Here's what I see."

Kind of like GoPro-ish.

Would that be interesting?

Still racking my brain here ...

A brainstorm with one brain is not even a thundercloud.

What kind of content would a content marketer create on periscope?

Do I even want to go to Periscope?

Maybe it's not my thing. Maybe it's for cooks and make up artists and musicians and ... the visual...not the doer.

Not sure, not sure.

What do you think?

Bill

May not be a great platform for a content creator, I think.
