Calling All Long-form LinkedIn Publishers!!1158

Forum Owner Belew private msg quote post Address this user
Do you have long-form publishing privileges on LinkedIn?

Are you taking advantage of them?

How about sharing:

1. What do you write about on LinkedIn?

I write about: content marketing, storytelling, thought leadership.

2. A link to your archives on LinkedIn.

@Belew

I have to ask: do you draw your own graphics? They are pretty cool. :-)

@labellecleo

Thank you for asking. And for the kind words.

I do not draw them. My son used to work as an animator in Japan. He creates them for me. It's not his favorite style ... he just does these for me the way I like them.

Thanks again.

@labellecleo

Thanks for that. I have over 300 of them.

I also have my assistant coloring some of them so I can have variations of them all.

We have well over 500 of them now that are reusable.

As long as I can put a speech or thought bubble on them ... or have a blank space to add text, there is no limit.

@Belew I have been using the long-form posts but very sporadically. They get some really great circulation. I write mostly about book marketing.

Have you used the Showcase portion of LinkedIn yet?

@bdaoust

Um....the answer will be clear to whether I used it or not when I ask, "What is the Showcase?"

@Belew Here is an article about the Showcase pages.

http://mashable.com/2013/11/19/linkedin-showcase-pages/

Basically they are pages that shoot off from a company page that will showcase a product or service. These pages were originally set to be aimed at a very targeted audience.

@bdaoust

Do you think it makes sense to have company page in addition to your personal page?

What if you are what you are offering?

@Belew

I work my profile over any company page - have not really done much with them at all. Kind of back-burner stuff. I get enough traction on my profile without the extras. Besides I want them to go to my blog and not my showcase page.

So the answer is personal page for me.

I try not to limit myself so I will write anything that seems to appeal to business folks or entrepreneurs.

Most of all I try to make my writing more interesting than another "top 10 tips for.."

1. What do you write about on LinkedIn?

Lately it's also centered: content marketing, storytelling, social media marketing, digital marketing, business / career success.

2. A link to your archives on LinkedIn.

Can LinkedIn long form be RSS syndicated like WordPress blogs?
Post 13 • IP   flag post
Forum Owner Belew private msg quote post Address this user
@Rev

Nope...LI, similar to FB, doesn't want ppl to leave it's site.

A better strategy would be to RSS your blog stuff into LI.

@Belew Do you have an RSS feed I could tap into for Moonshot?

@lunar_ranger

That is always the right way to do it. Your website is foundational (or should be!) to your social media efforts.

Anyone with a WordPress blog has an RSS feed unless they deliberately disable it.

http://yourblog.com/feed/

or, if your blog is in a sub-folder:

http://yourblog.com/folder/feed/

So Bill's would be:
