What Would You Say to 15,000 Followers?1239

This thread is a celebration of sorts.

@sunilbhaskaran and I are celebrating surpassing 15,000 Meetup members.

That's 15,000 people who have opted in to attend a Meetup or at least be notified of when we are doing one.

Perhaps 30% are the same people who belong to more than one of our groups. That is still 10,000+ people.

What would you say to 10,000 or 15,000 people?
What efforts are you taking to build a local/physical tribe of people to follow you?
Or is speaking/presenting not on your list of ways to re-purpose your content?
If not...why not?

Put a K behind it! 8-)

What would I say...

"let's have some fun..."

"all donations gratefully accepted... "

"Bills buying the first round..."

"who the hell are all of you ..."

"what am I doing here..."

"I'm leaving... "

Here's a guy, 89 years old (83 when he delivered this), who knows a thing or two about what to say to a group of people. Worth a listen, perhaps...

@Belew

You've probably got an hour and 12 minutes left. Sit down. Sit back. You are never too old to learn. And then share it.

2-3 words from the video reminded me of what I've had to face this week.

The concept of equality is hard to realize.
It's too easy to help someone and classify that person as inferior. There are several reasons to classify someone as inferior - it's mostly how well it fits into your thoughts.

Going into the more spiritual aspect of equality - what God/Buddha/Kahuna/etc wants you to do - is that as important as what you think you want to do?

The fight for equality is often for money and promotions and ownership - which is a place to start - but not stay.
