Welcome VIP 2015 Class - Introductions Here1283

Hello Everyone,
My name is Brandon Beasley and I am a graduate student from Washington, DC and a veteran of the United States Navy.

I am currently working on setting up my website and it should be along shortly.

I entered VIP 2015 because I am looking to start my own consulting business that will encompass male empowerment, spiritual and financial consulting.

In a year I honestly expect to have my own successful consulting business that brings in substantial revenue. I can’t say that I am looking to be a millionaire, billionaire, trillionaire or not to be one but what I can say is that I am seeking to have at least a six figure income doing things for people that I enjoy.

When it comes to fun I like to honestly just chill out and look at a good movie or either go out with some friends because I am extrovert who likes to go out and try new things.

I look forward to conversing with everyone because I believe that this class will change all of our lives for the better.

@MisterSuccessful

Glad to have you here. There are a few other ex-squids here. What did you do in the Navy?

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering how you were all going with scheduling your blog posts. I don't mean via Wordpress but does anyone keep a excel doc? I have been formulating one for the past few days and I think I may have perfected it but I'm interested in what everyone else is doing.

I'd love to see what that looks like. I don't schedule my blog posts. I probably should... I struggle to find time to write them. And then I struggle to write them, to have it express one theme, one set of coherent thought. And then I struggle to give each a keyword and summary, category, etc.

@SusanDay I am 10 years into my blogging career and have never done this. I'd love to see what you are doing.

Plz teach this old dog a new trick.

I'm a bit embarrassed now. I don't think what I've got is that impressive. I'll show you what I am doing if it's any help. As you'll see it's hand written in my own shorthand but it really helps me 'see' what I have published and what's left to done for a week or more.

I am posting to two blogs so I have one sheet per blog.

I tick the box to indicate the post has been written; write the time I have it published and (this is the important bit) what other articles I've written that I need to link back to

Simples!

@SusanDay

Why be embarrassed?

I have been flailing away for a decade now with no plan.

I am the one who is embarrassed. I wonder how much better I might have done had I had a plan.

Thanks for sharing!

I actually think it's a good idea and you thought it through, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. For me I put out two blogs a week, Monday and Thursday, I have only just started blogging but may adopt your scheduling technique to help me remember, cause I'm getting old.

Once again, thank you for sharing.

Thank you @PhotosByAnthony I had adapted the plan somewhat but I guess that's the best part of these things.

I rely on my schedule a lot now I've implemented it.

I hope it's useful for you too.

@SusanDay Any system that works for you is impressive ... and what you have is the basis of a very useful document ...

If I could suggest just one or two extra columns ...

Evergreen content = yes / no if no when does it need updating.
Repurose content = can the content be repurposed

And if you want to really push it, you could segment your audience down and put who it is specifically aimed at.

Really impressed with what you have... hope a few suggestions help.
