How Do I Build My Personal Platform Online?1441

mhamburg private msg quote post Address this user
Hello everyone,

I am a recent college graduate living on the west coast. I am moving back to the Washington D.C. area within a few weeks due to extenuating circumstances. I have not found a job as of yet, but I am seeking the good folks on this forum to assist my efforts. I currently work in the real estate industry, but I am open to an entry level position in consulting, politics, recruiting, marketing, and public relations as well as real estate. I know that there are many options that I have listed, but I am open to working for a company where I can grow from within.

Thank you

@Lenderman33 has build his own platform online.

@mhamburg, do you have an online domain? Where can we see, find you online?

1st step is to buy a domain name ... $9.99.

2nd step is buy cheap hosting. Get the cheapest that is offered.

3rd step is to install WordPress. It's free.

Then the group here can help out.

Will my LinkedIn account suffice?

@mhamburg

No. It doesn't belong to you. It can complement your own efforts but it should not be your only effort nor your main effort.

I cannot afford a domain or have the time to deal with creating a website. It is urgent that I need to secure a job, unfortunately.

You don't have money or time. Then you are in a tough position. You have to have one or the other. Or someone needs to give you money or time.

Unless someone else has an idea....

You can get a free domain (using blogger or another platform - you won't own it but it is a start) and go from there. You do need to spend the time creating great content, or no one will pay attention let alone offer you a job.

Reading between the lines, all he is after is a job ...

The title of the post was simply to enable this thread to be posted here... he isn't interested in building anything, as he says he doesn't have time, doesn't have money... and doesn't seem to want to work at anything ...

@Steve

Agreed... I talked with him on Skype.

He's in a gimme position ... he wants life to be easy. Not going to happen.

Isn't life strange ... if you don't put in the work its extremely hard, but with a little effort and work, life is remarkably easy ... it must be, I've lived, loved and cried all around the world ...
