This is a loaded question.

The answers will vary depending on the nature of the search....and the product or service.

There are generally 4 reasons why people go online. They are looking for:

1. Information
2. Entertainment
3. Inspiration
4. Mentoring

Number 1 is what Google or search satisfies the best.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it accessible.

It starts with a query.

The most popular requests on Google or any search engine is a query - a need to know something:

a piece of information
the solution to a problem
where to find a service

that sort of thing.

For the other 3 - entertainment, inspiration and mentoring, most people have already decided where they want to go.

But oftentimes...they decide where they want to go the 2nd time because they found what they were looking for (query) via search.

The most popular requests on Google are requests for information.

Well, the most used request in Russia is 'download for free' (in Russian of course). Which cannot probably be included in any of 4 items you pointed.

Is there any resource that displays the most used search requests in US?

@Tonyyakovlev

Download for free would be an information search, imho.

Where to download XYZ for free.

Here's an article - top 10 searches in the US on Google for last year.

Looking for some very 'searchable' position for my online store in Russia, to get some extra cheap traffic

@Tonyyakovlev

Avoid the cheap traffic. You will get cheap results.

You like the big numbers. But if they don't convert, they are just big numbers.

Been there and done that.

Not exactly. You can sell your big numbers.

If you approach someone who sells some positions you want to resell, you'll get much better price if you can prove you have one million visitors per day than if you have only one hundred.

The same story about hiring people. You may hire people more easily when you can show some big numbers to them.

It's your call and you business model to be sure. You can do what works for you. No issues.

But I have chased after big numbers .... and gotten them...and in the end I could surely 'brag' about them. But the truth is, they are just big numbers.

Quiz: Do you know what happens when you reach 100 million unique visitors? (I have done that, so I know the answer.)

If you'd like to get some cheap traffic... try using the most trending topics...like those mentioned in this thread.

Example: How Robin Williams might use my Widget ...

If you can connect your topic with what is happening in the world today... you can get really good traffic.

I know the answer either. Nothing happens.

And I'm not interested in Robin Williams trafic. I need to find some really searchable positions for online store in Russian. So I'd love to see which of phrases in Russian are the most often used in Google. And in Yandex as well.

For example:
"Buy a soccer ball" (in Russian) is used 12K times/month
"Buy a vacuum cleaner" - about 180K/month

That makes a huge difference. Do you know a reliable source for this statistics?

What if Robin Williams wanted to download a free vacuum cleaner?

Okay. I am kidding.

I have never used a keyword tool.

But perhaps a Google adwords account is a good place to start. You will learn the most popular terms and what it costs to buy them...just don't buy.

Seotools.com might do what you want.

Perhaps someone else here has done what you are doing. I wish I were more help.
