How to Handle New Users Registrations1467

I was surprised to find that a number of people have registered to use My Puppy Club. I'm not 100% sure what that means, being new to WordPress, but I did discover I could send them an introductory email via SB Welcome Email.

I already have an email subscriber box linked to Mailchimp but only one person has signed up to that (I offer a free recipe book for puppies - not for cooking them - more for making treats)

I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on how to keep this list growing and the best way to utilize it?

Thank you in advance

@SusanDay

Are you sure they are real?

How are they coming?

Are they coming as subscribers or are they giving you their email then confirming they want to get your emails?

I'm not sure, @Belew
I receive a confirmation via email that they have registered as new users. I can give them all sorts of rights and access.

WP Beginner suggests that you send them a welcome email.

@SusanDay

My bet is that they are all subscribers.

I started getting a bunch of them at one point. A lot of them. And I know that my site is not that popular...

I was suspicious. Maybe try spokeo.com or some such site and drop in the email and see if a real person comes up.

That'll tell you something.

Then again...somebody smarter than I in this forum probably knows better.
