"Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree..."

Okay, I know what a swagman is... you know, like IceHot or JJCool... guys with lots of gold jewelry. And billabong, isn't that what El Kabong uses to hit little Sanchez with over the head? And a coolibah tree... that's one of those funky trees that grows out in Moroco... near the Kaz-Bah, cool right?

But why the heck is he boiling poor Billy???

That's alright, @Belew. They're asleep in Aus for another couple of hours yet. You've got plenty of time. You'll get it figured by then.

Australia day ... meant no computer... got up eventually and was at the beach by 9'ish ... baked a little, went for a swim and came home for around 11 ... which was an adventure in itself, as we live in an area which had closed roads all day... so I kept having to show my driving license to get traffic marshals to move road closure bollards to let me in ...

Chilled at home with a few beers... spent some time in the garden... watched a movie and packed the picnic hamper.

Early evening we walked down to the river, found a spot, opened the picnic, ate, drank and watched the fireworks...

Continued to sit and enjoy ourselves long after most people had left... as we only had a short stroll home (beauty of living were we do) ...

Home, bed ... and eventually sleep ....

That was my Australia day...

Not quite ... the trouble with moving house (I've now moved) is that it takes an awful lot of work to do it ... the last three or four weeks have been spent sorting that out... but happily I'm now moved ... and life is once again pretty good.

A few of last nights foreworks

That's just some of it, the fireworks last for 30 minutes in total ... the entertainment went from 3 pm till about 9 pm ... as we live pretty close we just walked down for the fireworks ... this is the normal city view of the river / city that we have and which I like to walk down and spend a little time viewing each night as it kind of puts things into perspective.

@Steve

Jealousy abounds. I can walk to the ocean, too ... but it takes me abt 26 hrs to get there and I have to go over a mountain.

They are just 50km or so away.
