Must be nice to say, "where do you want to go?" and just go!

Hmm.. I forgot about that NYT article portraying Amazon as a "gulag" as the article says..

Wonder if there's any coincidence that NYT and the Post are neck & neck..

Control the conversation, then control perception..?

Thought this was an interesting perspective on the future, if not for the dramatic headline "End of the World As We Wrote It"

@jycmba very fascinating. So perhaps impressions and clicks are the only way anyone will get paid in the future!

@bdaoust - I think like so many things in business that the answer will be that "it depends.."

Premium news like New York Times and Washington Post will compete for audiences that crave quality coverage. But there will be several National Enquirer like sites like Buzzfeed.

The question for us is what will Blasting News become?

If we remember that these are businesses with MVP's (minimum viable product) of content, then the real answer lies in what audiences they end up attracting -

That also means that there's a bit of chicken & egg - but in our terms is "which readers are we attracting but also who do we want to attract for profitability?"

@jycmba I liked it so much that I wrote a tongue in cheek piece for tomorrow - using your article as a FB post embed.

Do people really want quality or do they want drivel? IMHO - they still want quality as bad writing is very difficult to read and comprehend.

As for the future of BN - who knows - they need to work on their interface to make it more enticing first and then perhaps the audience will stick around longer.

@bdaoust @jycmba

The guy I work with at BN is meeting with the CEO on Monday abt getting me more deeply involved with the strategic planning of BN. Who knows? Maybe I can mess this up, too.

@Belew - that would be a good thing for you to get involved - maybe they will take all our suggestions to heart!
