Switch to Competetive Intelligence1732

nmasand private msg quote post Address this user
Hi,
I am a Chemical Engineer working on the technical product development side in the pharmaceutical industry for about 10 years.
I would like to make a switch to competitive intelligence/market research area but unsure on how to go about it? My company is not big on taking side projects in a different department or do rotation programs.

Are there some volunteering opportunities that I can do to gain experience in this area?

@nmasand

Are you looking to do market research or looking to learn how market research is done?

My learning so far has been online short courses, so I would like to apply that and hence gain experience by doing. Does that make sense? Thank you!

Not sure what you are wanting to learn?

What courses have you taken?

Hi @nmasand - I don't know much about your industry, but I would start by looking at associations for folks in market research.

There you can connect with individuals who are working in that field, and they'd be the best source of practical advice.

A quick glance shows 761 groups for marketing research in LinkedIn.
