Hi and thank you for the invitation. My name is Monika and I am writing about how and where you can best savor your trips all over the world. I have been blogging since 2005 and am active in most social media channels, where I have built a community of faithful followers.

I am publishing in German, but there are translation buttons at the bottom of the page, if you are interested in what I am doing: TravelWorldOnline Traveller

@MonikaFuchs

Who doesn't love to travel!?

I was in Germany just last year. Was that you I saw in the bakery?

10+ years as a blogger. Wow! A real veteran.

What got you started to publishing online long before most people realized it could be done?

I've actually started publishing online even earlier, @Belew. In 2001 we started our travel portal officially after experimenting with online publications several years before. Thus, you can really call me a veteran .

It started as a hobby in between trips, while I was still working as a tour guide on several continents.

Today, blogging and publishing is my business.

Great story!

We love veterans here = people who have learned from experience, not those who think they know or wish they knew.

What's the most valuable lesson/s you have learned in your years of being online?

How did you build up your 'following?'

@Belew

My three most valuable lessons over my years of blogging:

- be flexible
- keep learning
- keep optimizing

I built my "following" through interacting with my readers on the blog, but even more importantly on social media. Some of them have been following me from the beginning.

@MonikaFuchs

Sorry for the many questions. But it's fun for me to learn and interact with ppl who have been around for awhile.

Can you give an example of how you had to be flexible?

I started out writing for a world audience and getting paid by impressions. AdSense changed and I had to change is an example I have.

How about you?

@Belew

Google changes its algorithms continuously and what was an acceptable practice when I began publishing online is now obsolete. Thus you always have to keep up with what is going on.

@MonikaFuchs - y, the only constant is change, as they say!

I have dear friends in Berlin and hope to make it to Cologne next, among other European destinations!

@MonikaFuchs Welcome! Just wanted to ask if Seniors 50 Plus are being treated with respect OR are they basically being over charged for trips to different destinations in the World? Also, why don't we see some 'Senior's discount'offers on different guided tours around the World? Thanks!

@MonikaFuchs welcome.... i look forward to learning lots from you...

One question what is your greatest challenge?

@seniorpreneur

To be honest I am probably not the perfect person to answer this question, since I am specialising in high end travel and introducing our readers to places where they can enjoy life's beautiful places and experiences. These don't usually come cheap.

@MonikaFuchs Do you know the percentage of Seniors 50+ (Boomers/Elders)that participate in 'high end travel'? What is the difference between high end travel and the travel for the rest of us? Thanks!

@Seniorpreneur

Sorry, I don't know how high the actual numbers are, but here in Europe seniors are considered affluent and keen to travel. The boomer generation is coming up now and that increases the number of senior travelers even more. High end travel covers luxury accommodations, good restaurants (not necessarily gourmet, but including them) and more.

Not specifically luxury travel, but it's what turned up in first pass - apparently seniors over 50 account for over 80% of luxury travel, according to Overseas Adventure Travel.

@jycmba

Interesting figures! I don't know what they are here in Europe, but I am pretty sure they are comparable.
