Twitter Conversion Numbers - How's Yours?2003

Forum Owner Belew private msg quote post Address this user
In the past 30 days, I acquired 7,100 new Twitter followers.

1,029 new visitors came to my site from Twitter = 14.5%

237 of those new visitors went to my goal page = 23% of visitors or 3% of new followers.

154 people joined = 65% of visitors to goal page, 14.5% of visitors and 2% of all new followers.

My numbers do not even come close - of course, I should be on top of gaining followers (targeted) and a better message - thanks for sharing @Belew

Not at all.

I am sitting across from a fellow who wants to hire me to do the same for him.

Of course ... "Results will vary." 8-)

Looks good.

I'm averaging 1k per month followers with a 1% conversion.

"154 people joined"

What did they join?

Not to take air out of the balloon, but two more important steps in the funnel would then be:

- how many of those who join actually participate by posting even a single message, and

- how many of those who post continue to participate with some regularity.

Regarding the latter, you can set your own metric that "feels" about right, but all the numbers up until that last one are just numbers. Without persistent engagement you have simply created a detour to bring traffic close to, even through, your property but to no profitable outcome.

The numbers are vastly different for my company since we are in an extremely narrow niche market. The percentages are good, but we don't enjoy "large" numbers. Our success has to be gauged by interaction, conversion, and quality of the small numbers that we do get.

@Rev

Why would that burst my balloon?

Neither of those items you listed are even considerations until I have someone to work with.

Step by step.

Large numbers are not important to me either.

The right number of the right people is the goal.

What kind of performance indicators (KPIs) do you look for?

How do you tell whether 'it's' working or not?

How do you determine if your Twitter strategy is working or not?

I took another look at your comment.

You are right ... if the engagement doesn't result in money in hand = conversion ... they are just numbers. That being said ... I have another month's worth of data.

Bill, Thanks for posting that song. I really enjoyed it. Few people have such a clear voice as Tennessee Ernie Ford.

I still don't understand Twitter. I was tweeting and getting followers and following people and after about a month of doing that they froze my account like I was doing something wrong. I was not spamming and was actually RT for the people I was following.

If you know what I could have done I'd appreciate knowing. Now I don't even get new followers, it seems. And I'm afraid to even try for fear of getting it taken. I don't even know why I care, either.

You can't be following too many more people than are following you.

Ex ... you can't be following 5000 ppl and have only 500 follow you.

@Steve is our resident expert.

I'd start reading this thread on growing your Twitter following.

Then watch this video.

2% of new followers do what I want? Is that good or bad?

Great video. I think I understand it better, but I have 1800 followers and I follow 3700. Does that mean that when I get to 2000 I will get blocked again? If I understand the rules I can usually make them work for me.

I am doing the follow/unfollow, but my helpers haven't helped me with the apps like crowdfire to help get it automated.

Yes. You are likely to get blocked.

Yes, I got blocked again and they say they are going to call me, but they haven't. I only followed people from the lists like the guy said and trying to find the people who don't follow me so I can delete them to balance it.

I was trying to delete the people when they locked the account. I don't get it. I didn't even get to 2000.

So, now I'm unblocked from Twitter. I went through all my followers by hand and unfollowed everyone who isn't following me. Everyone! But it still says I have 3600 followers and 1900 are following me. Where are the rest of the names? I subscribed to a bunch of lists. Would they be there?

I felt a reluctance to use twitter before and now, after 100 hours of use, at least 5 hours watching marketing videos and being blocked a couple times, I have lost all my enthusiasm for it.

I'm actually reading posts and contemplating whether I should follow the person.I'm sharing posts from my followers and from other sources, no content services or bots of any kind.
