I remember when I quit my day job and paid the bills with just writing and writing and writing and ...

I taught and wrote and taught and wrote and wrote and taught and wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote and taught less... then finally I didn't have to teach any more... and just wrote.

Now, I find myself teaching again.

I get asked regularly ... how'd you do that?

I write much less and teach much more. Go figure.

At least the bills get paid.

I don't make a living at it, but I don't work full time. I think I could make a living if I committed the same number of hours to writing as I did past jobs. But, that would depend on my ability to find a steady stream of clients. I know full-time copywriters who freelance. So, I have faith that it is possible. Just not a necessity for me at this life stage.

@TParker

Finding a steady stream of clients is also part of the writer's job .. or is it?

I've not had to test finding a full-time supply of clients yet. I usually work for about 3 clients at a time- Less than 10 hours a week.

I have not reached to stage yet though I'm opening up to teaching.
