What shall I blog about this week?

What ideas or prompts do you use?

I wish I could tell you, Susan. My blog post for this coming Sunday grew out of a nasty one-star review for The Devil and Pastor Gus. I actually had to cut my blog posts back to one a week on each of two blogs because I was getting so stressed out coming up with topics. *sigh*

When I'm stumped for ideas, I go seasonal. Pick a regular holiday or one of those obscure ones. Or write something related to what people are doing this time of year. For example, I am covering more exercise, injury prevention, sport related stuff for one of my clients as people are heading outdoors.

@SusanDay I like to take a story that has happened in my life and turn that into a five to ten point lesson. I also like to take sentences and sayings I hear other use and turn those into stories.

Basically, if it makes me take notice then I use it to share.

Check your spam email. Lots of ideas in the titles and the content. Often "what not to do" ideas.

@SusanDay Hi Susan! How about writing about Senior 50 Entrepreneurs and the idea that 'business' for seniors is not a dirty word. Presently, I'm enjoying a sabbatical from blogging.

@Seniorpreneur I would love to do that. I'm not sure if you know, but I am on a mission to write 100 blog posts in one year and your audience would be perfect.

So far I have had 56 published.

Please PM with your details. I am a great believer in working for oneself, especially as we get older. There are so many advantages to running a business that seniors should explore.

I have run several businesses myself over the past years and have a few business ideas I'm still looking forward to exploring.

@RogerBruner we might have to knock our heads together and come up with some ideas for you.

That would be good, Susan. One blog, "As I Come Singing," isn't a problem. I recycle my two hundred original song lyrics. And "On Aging Gracelessly" shouldn't be a problem because whatever comes to mind fits. A topic always comes, and it comes more easily if I'm not fretting or trying too hard. :-)

@RogerBruner I think you have hit the nail on the head. I never overthink anything. I sit down and start tapping away... I can always revise and edit afterwards.

One advantage of being seventy is nobody's going to criticize me if I write a similar post to something I've done before...as long as at least six months have passed first. *G*

When you are 70 you don't have to remember what you forgot.

I forgot what it was that I couldn't remember what I didn't want to forget.
