Meh. Motivators are a dime a dozen these days.

But INSTIGATOR... now there's someone I want to meet!

are we humans? or are we instiGAStors? hmmm. Let's look at the results and hope they are not scented.

Long live the instigators! (or instiGAStors as you wish)

@Rev I want to smelt hope from the circumstances and situations of lives so that I can ignite the possibilities for people!

Same here @KathrynLang.

I must confess when I first saw instiGAStor in the thread I thought somebody was making a joke on my entry. And you know, when life gives you lemons ... so I decided to make a joke on it. I could have abandoned the thread, I could have replied upset or so many other responses. I decided to go along with the joke.

Later I realized it was, in fact, simply a typo that was later corrected. I tried to edit my second post with no luck (maybe it is possible but I don't know how to do it), because I don't want to appear rude or nasty and the only reference to instiGAStors are mine now. Sorry for that.

In any case I'm glad we have ignitors, nurturers, hopesmiths, motivators, instigators and I only hope there will be many more. We need many more good a caring people.

Vaclav Havel said: "Hope is definitely not the same thing as optimism. It is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out".

I believe on it.

@wcolmen I am a firm believer that hope makes way for everything else!

I agree with you @KathrynLang. I would only add to hope, a little proactive and positive action. That is, not "hope and wait for something to happen" but "hope and go for it". Even if you fail you would have failed trying (this last is not mine but Roosevelt's)

Nice day,

@wcolmen I always say that the only way you can fail is to NOT try - everything else is a learning experience!

I am an agitator and rebel. People "love" me or they LOVE me.

What I am talking about...

There are actually 3 kinds of people in the world. The better course, which you seem to be following @lunar_ranger, is to just ignore the third!

Before TV there were only 2 kinds of people, my co-workers and my neighbors. After internet, there's only one, those in my communities (facebook, Twitter, Instagram, ...), who, for sure love me and most likely think like me. You are right @lunar_ranger.

In between those eras, thanks to the TV, we discovered diversity, e.g., races, religions, cultures, ... and yet it is so hard to deal with more than 2, ... or 3 of a kind. Internet sets us in the dawn of a new era, with a new human being with a more powerful brain.

Let's hope for the best of this new man (woman) and let's celebrate we are actors and witness of this new era.

@wcolmen in my lexicon an instigator can be a trouble maker ... but, that can be a good thing, right?

To me, an instigator is a person that initiates something. That's why sometimes it is not considered good @SusanDay, because you may initiate revolts or the like.

But you can also make new good things to happen. Some others could not imagine possible to do or reach. Some that at first could be considered insignificant but later proved to be of great impact. Most anew and with the resources available. Just a new point of view.

I missed this thread completely.

I am not seeing the difference between instigator and motivator unless it is in the nuances somewhere.

Perhaps instigators poke until something happens and motivators encourage others to make something happen.

No? Yes?

@wcolmen Instigators are good if they have a level-headed strategist on hand to balance them out.

I would say an instigator drops the seeds of the idea to get people moving. A motivator moves people to pursue their own ideas.
