I quit using Jetpack because of all the other components built into the plugin (that I didn't need). The particular web host I was using at the time (in Florida) offered me "limited" space, and the plugin was taking up alot of that - unbeknownst to me. The caveat I tell most newbie site owners is to be certain the space allocated for their plan, provides sufficient room for plugins and Jetpack "consumes".

Am I the only one who feels like the online space is becoming more and more saturated?

Is being good at what you do still enough to get thru the clutter?

And so can you tell me how actually you are supposed to build that mailing list you are going to automate?

Actually, Jetpack isn't a very large plugin. If you're site was slow it was due to something else. All the "stuff" in Jetpack isn't actually "in" Jetpack. Jetpack is basically a menut. The stuff is accessed through Automattic's servers (ie: in the cloud) and is fast. You likely had some other plugin that was conflicting and it was the other plugin that was at fault. If you'd removed it you would have had the same results and still had all the goodies in Jetpack at your fingertips.

Of course the 'net is becoming cluttered. The world is becoming cluttered. Yes you need to be good at what you do. The issue is what you do.
