My own research as well as other independent companies have reached the same conclusion.

You need a minimum of 400 Posts and 6 months to gain traction.

To belong to this club... Plz take a screen shot of your dashboard and post it here.

There are a lot of reasons to have archives this deep.

Credibility is the biggest.

depth for automation is another.

No screen shot no membership in this thread? 8-)

You can't get the magic to happen unless you first put in all the hard work ...

And the 195 campaigns is the number of newsletters I have sent out ...

Curious to know...

Why do you create so many pages as opposed to posts?

Hah well that's a long conversation, but in essence:

pages for lessons in my courses
pages for sales letters
pages for specific types of 'evergreen' content that I want to manage in some way that requires the content to be outside of The_Loop .

I have unique templates for a variety of pages and posts:
sales
blank with header/footer
blank with no header/footer, but with all metadata
sales with comment
sidebar

I split-test a lot, so that creates two pages, and I have timed sales events that expire, so that creates multiple pages. I also have upsells and OTOs that are displayed to specific buyers at specific times.

It's fun!

Done right should it matter if a page or post?

From a website "technical" or SEO point of view, none at all. From a social following point of view it might, though at the moment I can't think why...

In WordPress, at least, posts and pages are the same "physical" thing -- a framework that accepts data and controls presentation. They are just handled in a slightly different manner when it comes to display and how they are connected within the site hierarchy.

Now that you have created yet another way to compare "size" and engender "post" envy, can you enlighten those of us who might want to know what the positive outcome of this thread might be?

@morrnel

Pages are stand alone.

Posts are placed in categories. Categories are dynamic = changing and growing and more findable.

How often have you searched and found a result that is listed in a category?

Root domains are no longer part of search. Categories very much are.

Pages cannot be placed in categories.

Pages are one and done.

Posts are dynamic because each time smth is placed in their category a new dynamic occurs.

@Rev

not so on the compare.

the research is clear, there is a certain threshold ... around 400 Posts and 4-5+ months before search kicks in and the benefits of social sharing and networking can be reaped.

too many people want to start networking before they have established themselves as someone to network with

It's not about comparison. It's about first asking yourself, "Have you created depth, have you established yourself as credible, have you put your time in?"
