Long-form Publishing on LinkedIn is Dying880

Long-form publishing on LinkedIn is dying.

Indeed it looks like it has just come to life for many.

Yeah... I hope it works for you.

For a long time I'd get 3-figures and sometimes 4-figures in the number of eye balls that saw my posts. No more.

It seems as if everyone and their brother now gets to published regardless of profile status.

What that means is LinkedIn cannot or will not notify everybody that follows everybody that something has been posted. Can you imagine all the little red bubbles at the top with the big numbers.

The only problem with big numbers is when they are too big too manage.

It's always a problem to build something on a platform that is owned by somebody else. This is yet another example.

Build it on your own site. Build your own email list. Host your own webinars. Own it. And you can do what you like and not have to worry that someone will take it away.

Compare June 17 to June 2 results of long-form publishing at LinkedIn.

Has anyone else had the same experience?

I think in the end all publishers did was beef up the LI platform.

What's in it for the publisher?
