What Might Be a Dream Audience for Speakers919

Belew private msg quote post Address this user
I may be wrong... and it surely wouldn't be the first or last time, but it seems to me that the ideal audience for a speaker is NOT a room full of other speakers ... competing for the same spot. But a room full of event organizers looking for speakers. No? Yes?

I'll opt for yes.

I have been invited to present to the World Education Conference in San Francisco at the Moscone Center.

Some 2500 people are expected to be there. The attendees are event organizers, people looking for speakers and more attendees to their events and those who support the industry.

It's a chance for me to speak to a whole group of people looking for someone (I hope) who will want someone like me to come speak at their event which is also full of people ... rinse and repeat.

Sounds like a great time ... and I have my work cut out for me.

What @Rev said ... with the added disclaimer that they use them, and give the speaker a few minutes to capture their attention.

I have a great opportunity to present to a large group of people who need to know what WE know on two different levels.

They want to do better events = more people.

They want a good speaker who can deliver = motivational.

I aim to deliver both.

So your audience is demotivated event planners ... now that's a challenge ... and I'm just playing... Thursday are fun days.

But then so are Fridays, Saturdays ...... etc ... lol

@Belew If they pay to be there they might as well pretend to be interested. Andy Kauffman once invited his audience to chocolate cookies afterwards... so maybe they want cookies.
